About the event

Risks on the rise as headwinds grow stronger

The Swiss Re Institute has released its Global Economic & Insurance Outlook 2024/2025. It gives detailed explanation to our forecast that the global economy, in the shadow of recession risk, will slow next year as monetary policy headwinds strengthen and growth tailwinds fade.

The global picture is further complicated by divergence between major economies: US growth continues, though slower, while Europe is stagnating, and China is grappling with domestic structure weaknesses. Renewed geopolitical fractures in the Middle East create potentially non-linear downside risks and add uncertainty to the outlook.

In the Global Executive Dialogue webinar Julien Descombes, Chief Underwriting Officer Life & Health Reinsurance, and Anne Lohbeck, Chief Underwriting Officer, Specialty, will join Jérôme Haegeli, Group Chief Economist, to explore the research and outline implications for the insurance industry, with the opportunity for live questions from the audience.
